Between Vietnam Tours (1968/1969)
|
I returned to the states in Dec '67, was reunited with my family, and introduced to
daughter, Theresa. My assignment was to Hunter Army Airfield, where I served as an
Instructor Pilot in the Aviation School. Sometimes I wondered if the students were
staying up nights trying to think of new ways to kill me! This was the first of three tours I
had at Hunter. It's a good thing we liked Savannah!
The only photo of my own I have during my tour at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA.
is a family shot taken just before I shipped out. The only other pictures I accumulated
that are even remotely related to HAAF are a couple of shots of my instructor, Duncan B.
Dowling III, aka "Dunkie-Poo." He must have done something right, because I survived my
tour as an instructor.
Teacher, Duncan B. Dowling III
